Keep sessions locked behind a six-character code, or publish a public lobby with a title, description and tags so other editors can find the room live.

Lobby presence refreshes automatically while public rooms are open.
Your lobby appears in the live browser with its name, host, tags and participant count. The AE project itself is never uploaded to the directory.
Previewing Midnight. Your choice stays local to your PC.
AE Jam puts the conversation, files, reactions and editing handoff beside the project—so your crew stays in the same room and the host stays in control.
One host streams the actual After Effects project. Up to nine guests can watch live, talk, react, point things out and stay synced to the same cut.
The host grants one protected control token at a time. Everyone else can keep watching, chatting and requesting the next handoff.
Send footage, presets, audio and overlays directly. Received files save into AE Jam Shared and can be imported into After Effects.

Send a six-character code to friends, or publish a titled lobby that appears live in the public browser.
Watch, annotate, send files, react and hand off the single controller whenever another editor needs to jump in.
“Can you move that cut two frames?”
Ping it. Mark it. Hand over control.“Do you have that overlay?”
Drop the file directly into the room.“Wait, play that again.”
Everyone is already watching the same preview.“That was actually clean.”
Fire the GIF. Hit the soundboard.AE Jam does not pretend ten independent copies of a complicated After Effects project can merge perfectly. Instead, the host keeps the real project while the room gives everybody a live, useful way to participate.
AE Jam is a Windows collaboration tool built around a live host project.
Up to 10 people total: one host and up to nine guests. Everyone can watch, chat, react and use collaboration tools, while one person holds editing control.
Private rooms stay off the lobby browser and require the room code. Public rooms publish a lightweight listing so editors can discover them, preview the title and tags, then join from the Lobbies tab.
The directory shows the lobby title, host display name, description, tags, participant count, room code and selected theme accent. Your After Effects project, screen, chat and transferred files are not placed in the public listing.
No. AE Jam intentionally uses one exclusive control token. The host can approve, revoke or hand off control, and additional requests wait in a queue.
Guests are watching and controlling the host project, so they do not need an identical local project setup just to participate. The host machine still needs the project’s actual plugins, fonts and media.
Yes. AE Jam supports direct file transfer. Received files save into an AE Jam Shared folder and can be opened, revealed or imported into After Effects.
Most normal home connections should work, but some restrictive school, workplace, VPN or firewall setups can block peer-to-peer traffic. Host upload speed also affects stream quality in larger rooms.
This release is an unsigned test build. Windows SmartScreen may display a warning because the installer does not yet have a paid code-signing certificate.
Open a private room for the crew—or publish a public lobby and meet editors who are ready to jump into the session.
